In this series, I use a Brownie Hawkeye to create black and white documentary style photographs of southern landscapes and scenes. I seek to highlight the beauty of the deterioration of these scenes, and symbolically show the beauty of the southern culture that today seems to be a thing of the past. So much production in today's society has been transferred elsewhere and this lifestyle has become nearly impossible with our high demands for mass production and reliance on instant gratification. As someone who has grown up in the south, these images remind me of parts of my childhood. The hazy softness resembles distant memories.
