Holga

The Holga is a medium format 120 film camera, made in Hong Kong in 1982, known for its low-fidelity. The Holga’s low-cost, plastic construction and simple meniscus lens create technical issues such as vignetting, blur, light leaks, and other errors. Over the years, photographers have used these effects to their advantage created new movements using this unconventional way of making photographs. I like the contrast of the simplicity of the Holga versus shooting digitally. When shooting with the Holga, there isn’t much that you can control and it helps me to worry less about the quality of the equipment and more on the quality of the photograph itself.
