Texture and Space

During a Study Abroad Program in Italy during the summer of 2017, I was continually amazed by the variety of this country’s rich textures and surfaces. Texture has always been an important part of visual art due to the mesmerizing effects of pattern and surface texture. This experience was transformative as it reaffirmed the importance of intensified looking in all aspects of photography. While studying the texture, I began to look deeper at the surrounding landscapes and the variety.
